'Don't get me wrong, the overall staff is very friendly. But the man behind te frontdesk.. I think he could speak English, but he just did not want to because he did not wanted to help us. We had a couple of problems with the room: stinky sewer in the bathroom, no hot water, leaking toilet. No real big issues overall but when we stated them to the manager he said he would fix it. 'We had the BEST time at Ella Retreat! Sadly on 34 hours long but this hotel is seriously beautiful, better than the pictures. You need a head for heights on the (slightly hairy) tuk tuk ride up the mountain, but once you're there this is a haven that you simply cannot afford to miss on your trip to Sri Lanka.
