'We had a lovely big room Yell overlooking the garden. The hotel was peaceful and quiet even though there were some big groups staying. Always plenty of hot water and heating which was needed after being in the cold winds at Shetland. Staff very helpful and polite - they helped us book ferries to Yell and Unst. Breakfast and dinner very plentiful - too much for me at times but you can ask for a half portion. Lovely lounge to relax in on an evening. Highly recommend and we hope to be back at...

'The week we spent at Voortrekkers Lodge, Levenwick, was an absolutely marvellous experience. The spectacular view from the lodge, the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts and the cosy, clean accomodation all contributed to a wonderful holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We adored the goats and the almost-goat-sheep at our front door! Thank you, Niki and Piet, we are surely planning to come back some day. Maybe I will even try the smoked, freshly caught fish then...'

'We had a wonderful stay at the Voortrekker apartment. It had everything you would need and amazing views. The hot tub was much welcomed after a day of walking. Nikki and Piet were really welcoming and helpful. We hope to go back one day.'

'Would absolutely stay here again! The location is stunning and Niki is a great host. I'd never been to the UK before and forgot to specify an automatic for my car rental. She sent me taxi and bus info and had found me a new rental car with a different co (the only one who had an automatic available) by the time I got to the rental, and was also just a pleasure to talk to. Don't skip the spa, which is well-maintained and especially relaxing with its large windows facing the sea.'
