'We enjoyed this charming little cottage in the center of historical Rye. It was clean, good wifi (important for the kids) and the host reacted fast on my questions. My only remarks, with 4 people an extra comfortable chair would be welcome and we prefer a larger double bed. The short term parking in front of the cottage is convenient to drop off your luggage, there are many longer term car parks only a couple of minutes away. 'I stayed 6 days at the Parlour together with my 3yo son. We enjoyed every bit of it! Lovely cottage, very clean and super comfortable bed! Great views! Perfect location for beautiful walks in nature. My Son lives the horses! Louise and Graham were the best hosts, very friendly and gave us very good tips for things to do in the area! 'Perfect location for our trip, revisiting the area after 25 years. Alfriston is a great base, able to buy our groceries at the local shop, have a meal out at the smugglers arms, & browse the wonderful bookshop. Parking was convenient, kitchen is well equipped, and a nice library of dvd’s for relaxing evenings st home. Highly recommend. '

'Situated in an excellent location with lots to do around you. Cottage was warm and cosy and everything you could possibly need was there, the welcome hamper was great and thankfully we didn’t need to find a shop for the essentials as it was all there. quick response from the owners when needed, would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.'

'We stayed for four nights in June and were delighted with the facilities provided. One king size bedroom, one double bedroom and a small room suitable for a child (we brought our own crib for the baby). Small details like the stair gate and a few toys helped too. The patio furniture was well used as we had glorious weather. Staplecross is well placed for exploring Rye. Hastings, local vineyards and National Trust properties. We would like to return next year!'

'In a grand old house overlooking the flatlands to the sea, with a view of miles. First impressions: huge. Second: who’s having which room (they all were en-suite so it didn’t really matter). Third - I want a bookcase like that one! We loved the first floor reading book as much as the sun room sofa. This was an easy stay in central Rye. A bit of a faff with two cars to park and repark - but parking is so inexpensive, we could park for 24 hours for less than it costs for an hour at home. The...
