'It was a great experience to be in Maison Gris in St Andre Allas. Everything was available. In some cold days, the heating was quick and comfortable. The views are excellent. Sarlat is just a few miles away.'

'very well furnished house for a large group. With friends and family staying in the vicinity, we were able to have up to 25 people for a dinner or a lunch without too much effort. Everything is very simple, but in the winter with all the coats and shoes, we lacked space to put things away or hang them. The heating was barely coping with the vast spaces, luckily it wasn't too cold. The kitchen is fantastic, and overall we had a great Christmas time.'

Our first view of the chateau was from its imposing position on the hillside which could be seen from several kilometres away basking in the evening sun as we approached. 'We were with 8 adults and had a lovely stay in the Perigord region with quiet surroundings. Just the sound of a lot of birds keeps you awake during the day. The castle is very well equipped and decorated and not to big, neither to small. It fits the number of guests very good. You can visit several nice little towns(one or two stars Michelin!) but make cycle or walking tours as well. In short: lovely castle and park, everything you need is there.'
