'We loved the location and the indoor/outdoor areas compelled us to cook in instead of heading to one of the many incredible restaurants at Mapua which we'd been looking forward to. That tells you how good it felt. It has a great outdoor fire and covered seating area which was perfect at the end of a cycling day and heading into a cooler autumn evening. 'We enjoyed our stay at this lovely family bach in Ngakuta bay. Location was great, right on the water, Ngakuta loop trail, and the link trail. We enjoyed the toys and game room. This is a classic kiwi bach and you need to bring your own sheets and towels. We did not hear back when we inquired about the possibility of renting linens. The property is what we expected from a kiwi back and we really enjoyed our stay. '

'I am truly not one to complain, but traveling so far and arriving to a house with absolutely no ventilation made it impossible to stay there and we had to leave and book another house. The rooms were dated and sweltering with heat, the units in two of the rooms blew hot air, and the main area was only bearable with all of the windows open which meant being covered sand fly bites. Truly one of the worst experiences arriving in such a beautiful place. Would not recommend.'

'A great place to stay for a couple... and, in our case, two small dogs. Everything you need, although no freezer or laundry facility. The fridge is a wine fridge but it's huge and was plenty big enough for our needs. Tons of room, excellent bathroom, comfortable bed, wifi, large tv. Easy access to Havelock and Queen Charlotte Sound, Blenheim, Picton, and Rapara Beach (no good for swimming but awesome ruggedness), plus heaps of wineries to explore.'

'The property was very comfortable and generally met our needs. The shower was a little cramped and shower head kept flipping down. We weren't able to tighten the fitting. The narrow drive and tight turning circle into carport necessitated backing in or out for larger vehicle.'

'The accommodations were wonderful, spacious and beautifully maintained. The location was great with plenty of activities in the village and surrounds. Jane, the host was responsive to our questions and gave us great information for things to do and see.'

'This was by far the most neglected and dirtiest property we ever rented as a holiday accommodation. The carpet was full of hair, the entrance area had lot's of spider webs. Dishes and cutlery had to be washed before we could use them. Totally unacceptable.'
