Do not stay here!
This VRBO is in an undesirable location with a condemned building across the street and trash around and on the property. The foyer was dirty and with the smell of marijuana. The handle to the exterior entry and deadbolt to the apartment door were broken. The apartment was exceedingly dirty and clearly not swept or mopped. There was dried vomit on the first floor toilet. The refrigerator was dirty with food and sticky substances. Smoke detector on the first floor was missing. The yellow chair in the family room collapsed upon sitting found damaged and missing screws. When opening the living room drapes, the whole assembly collapsed and was hanging by a screw. The windows had slime/hand prints on them. The patio door lock in the 2nd floor bedroom to the balcony was broken/unable to be locked. We immediately contacted the owner to address our concerns. She apologized for what she described as “minor” inconveniences and offered a late check out. We opted to stay the evening and the next day sent a message to the host that we would not be staying for the second night as we felt uncomfortable and unsafe not being able to secure the Apt. She didn’t address our concerns and she refused to refund us the 2nd night or cleaning fee as she stated that we were only objecting due to the “cost” of the accommodation. This is anything but an “elegant escape” and are writing this review to caution anyone who may consider renting here or with this host in the future.
