Family Reunion
Eight family members rented the property while visiting my in-laws, who live nearby. The neighborhood's quiet and convenient to local beaches and restaurants. The house is attractive from the outside; yard and pool are well-maintained and inviting. The inside is a little disappointing, and as one member of our party put it, in need of some organization and a refresh. The main living room and kitchen table really cannot accommodate the 10 people the property can sleep, and even on the poolside dining area we had to pull up extra chairs when the in-laws came over. The kitchen is fine, but dishes are in short supply for a large group, and we scrambled to find serving platters, etc. Some we did find needed a good scrubbing prior to use. I understand that renters won't stick to any set organization, but this was more jumbled than most places we've stayed. Beds were comfortable and the linens on them were fine, but we scrambled again to find an extra set to make up one of the sofa beds for a nephew who didn't want to share a bed. Towels were substandard, and a number were stained. The curtain liner in one of the baths needed tossing, and there was a large crack in one of the sliding doors. One dryer and the ice maker didn't appear to work, and one trash can was full all week. No one thing was a deal breaker, but the house overall really could use some attention. Hosts were good about sending a plumber to fix hot water in master shower and answering questions during the week.
