We stayed for 3 nights. Home has been updated nicely. Laminate floors, nice furniture, nice washer/dryer (a few tide pods were supplied). The screen room was great since it was so rainy during our stay. The best thing this house has going for it is the location - you have to walk up a fairly steep but short hill to then get to the tiered steps leading to the beach. The beach itself is nice (very natural). The homes is off a rather busy street. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is due to the following negatives: The owner (or perhaps management co?) required a very hefty security deposit (my only other option was to pay the smaller non-refundable insurance which I decided to do - didn't want to run the risk of trying to debate them to get my deposit back should some have gone wrong in their eyes). We have rented several homes throughout the years and never had to put this much down. This was very offputting but we were limited in our choices as we booked very late for this trip. Secondly, there were a lot of small things that the cottage needed: 1) A light over the table inside - was almost too dark to play certain games indoors at night as the only other lighting was from the overhead fan at the top of the peak of the roof or the lights over the counter 2) They only have one mirror in the entire cottage and that is in the room with the toilet/sink (the shower is in a separate room which was helpful so someone could be showering while another was using the bathroom) - why not have mirrors in each bedroom? I had 3 teenager daughters with me all vying for the one small mirror, 3) no hand towels in the cottage nor a towel holder in the bathroom (other than a stick-up hook from which nothing would hang), 4) No larger bowls - had planned to make pancakes and had nothing but cereal bowls to use, 5) no dish towels, 6) No sugar/creamer for the coffee - had some coffee which I suspected a past guest had left - all other rentals we have had provided something akin to a coffee bar, with coffee, creamers, sugars, tea, etc. - 7) no lock on one of the bathroom doors - the bathroom with the toilet/sink was like a passthrough location between the kitchen and bedroom - one side had a hook and eye - the other didn't, nor were the doors truly doors with knobs but rather wood panels that you pull to - if you need privacy, this wasn't going to provide it. Overall, not bad, but for the price, I wouldn't stay here again.
