Vues panoramiques de Puget Sound et des montagnes olympiques avec de vastes jardins

Le chalet est dans un cadre très calme; vous pouvez entendre le bruit des colibris ainsi que des baleines, (si elles viennent ce qui est rare maintenant) et marcher jusqu'au bord du pâturage depuis le chalet Les nuits sont très sombres et calmes également. Situé dans un cadre pastoral sur un ranch de chevaux de six acres, il y a un joli jardin vivace devant votre porte avec un cueillette de votre propre potager (en saison).

Nous sommes à distance de marche de Eagle Cove isolée avec une plage de sable idéale pour bronzer et patauger. Marchez jusqu'au parc national de l'American Camp pour des opportunités de randonnée et des informations sur l'histoire de l'île. Nous sommes à seulement 12 minutes en voiture de Friday Harbor.

Le design intérieur est un mélange de motifs du monde acquis lors de nos voyages avec des tapis orientaux et des accessoires européens et a une influence provençale française. Il y a aussi une belle cheminée à gaz pour les soirées romantiques.

Réveillez-vous avec une vue sur un jardin naturel depuis votre chambre avec un lit queen-size confortable. L'élégante salle de bains de luxe a une baignoire sur pied et des toilettes et une vanité, des carreaux italiens et du marbre, des planchers chauffants et un porte-serviettes chauffant. La deuxième salle de bain a une belle douche carrelée avec des planchers chauffants. Dehors, il y a accès à une table de pique-nique et des chaises.

Wonderful country escape with great view and hosts
The cottage was the perfect place for a wonderful get away on San Juan Island. Mary is a very creative artist and has decorated the cottage beautifully and provided absolutely everything we needed for our stay. The gardens are filled with fantastic flowers and the patio and view are a great place to enjoy meals. We hope to return soon!

AMAZING STAY WITH MARY AND FRED-THANKS
Our stay was OUTSTANDING-read no more and book the cottage with Mary if its available! We stayed for 3 nights celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary! The location is perfect-just a quick 15 minute or less drive from the Ferry & Friday Harbor or a 25 minute bike ride for riders. Mary greeted us along with a beautiful flower bouquet from her amazing garden & art work in the house!! The cottage & description is even better when you arrive! A wagon to help transport your items to the cottage. A beautiful view & sunsets every night of the Strait of Juan de Fuca & Victoria. The cottage is beautiful, colorful & very comfortable & has a BBQ if you wish. Has a gas fireplace & hot tub access. Mary has a notebook with suggested restaurants, locations to visit and things to do with great maps. Cell coverage on the island is spotty so take the maps. We rode our E-bikes to Friday Harbor & explored the town & enjoyed lunch. Explored San Juan Island National Park-great hike & exploration to Grandma's Beach-saw 10 sea otters & lots of rabbits, & Roche Harbor. Had a fabulous meal at Oyster Tale in Friday Harbor, another great meal in Roche Harbor at McMillin's Dining room-make reservations & another good meal with great service at Downriggers. Spring Street Deli makes amazing sandwiches-close to a great book store. Thanks to Mary and Fred for opening their wonderful, beautiful, peaceful and relaxing property!

Charming, peaceful, well decorated
Loved this place and the style with which it was done. Very comfortable. We liked being away from town yet only 10 minutes. Perfect for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with views of the water. I needed strong WiFi to work and that was problematic. The owners were very responsive to this problem. If u depend on WiFi for work u may need to check if that has been taken care of. I drove into town and used the public library’s wifi. I’d still stay here again.

Garden Cottage Stay was Amazing
Our seven day stay at Mary and Fred’s garden cottage was amazing and so were our hosts.The house was perfect and had all we needed. I cooked every day and it was so wonderful to have everything in a kitchen I needed to prepare our meals. The bed, pillows, and sheets were the best which made a for wonderful nights sleep!

Blissful weekend stay
We had a wonderful experience staying here! The property was stunningly beautiful and immaculately kept, with a beautiful view of the water. Everything was clean, comfy, and relaxing. Fred and Mary went out of their way to provide plenty of information about activities, restaurants, places to go/directions. There were a couple of hiccups with communication after we got there, but otherwise it was a lovely stay. Can't recommend enough (especially the hot tub).

Mary and Fred were wonderful hosts! Had a chance to spend time with them. Delightful people! Generous and unobtrusive! The cottage is very nice and the pictures are very true to how it looks live. Comfortable and well appointed! Nice views of Haro Strait and Vancouver Island. Easy 10 minute drive from Friday Harbor!

Amazing stay
Mary’s cottage is lovely! We enjoyed our stay immensely. The view is gorgeous, the kitchen was well stocked with what we needed to eat in and the hot tub was clean and easy to use. I would highly recommend this for a couple who likes to explore the area during the day and end with a quiet evening enjoying sunset.

Perfect Getaway Cottage
Mary and Fred’s Garden Cottage by the Sea was just as billed! Fantastic view of the water, peaceful and quiet. Out of town location, yet close to everything. Perfect spot to stay on San Juan Island. The cottage is beautifully finished, clean and has everything you would need. The 2 cats, and 2 dogs came by to visit. They were welcome whenever they happened by. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Wonderful Island Cottage
This cottage is beautiful and has so many thoughtful touches (heated bathroom floor, for example!) that make it very comfortable and cozy. We especially loved the little gas heater/fireplace. Comfortable beds. Mary and Fred are excellent and generous hosts and allowed us to store our bikes in their garage. Overall a lovely stay in the beautiful countryside.

Wonderful Vacation Rental
This is an absolutely wonderful vacation rental. One of the best we have stayed in over the years. Mary is an artist and you can see her touch everywhere you look. We were there in the summer and the flowers were blooming all over the property. In the morning I would sit outside with my tea and the hummingbirds would surround me visiting the flowers. The cats and dog came to visit and they were wonderful. The horses on the ranch are beautiful to be seen but not to be touched. Everything was provided for us including notebooks with places to see, hikes to take, restaurants to visit, etc. We mostly ate out at the restaurants that were recommended but the few times we did use the kitchen, there was everything there that we needed. You do not usually see the care to detail of this rental. It is far enough away from traffic and people that you truly feel that you are in the country but you are still close enough to restaurants, grocery stores, whale watching tours, boating and all the tourist activities you might want. I love this place and hope one day to return. Oh, almost forgot the hot tub. It was great after a day of hiking, spotless and so relaxing. Hope you enjoy this jewel as much as we did!

Heaven on Earth
This is our second year at the cottage - my husband and I can’t say enough great things. The location is perfect - view of the water, gorgeous gardens, and greatly appointed space. (Loved the bonus animals - dogs, cats, and horses - on property). We will be back again and again! Thank you for such an amazing place!

A Beautiful Hideaway
Thanks Mary and Fred for sharing your lovely cottage. It was outfitted with EVERYTHING we could have needed and more. You anticipated our every question in advance and provided us a plan to see the island and some of the out of the way stops as well as a restful place to recharge. Very enjoyable stay
My husband and I visited San Juan Island and chose this property for the seclusion and area. Even though town was a short drive we didn’t mind at all. The guest house was just perfect! Loved the entire experience and all the suggestions of sight seeing. We did almost all of them and absolutely loved our stay. The house had everything we could ask for and more! The heated towel rack and floors were definitely a bonus. We always look for places with a homey feel and this didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed petting your cats and dogs and they were not a bother whatsoever. We found the bed to be very comfy and was nice to have a separate bathroom for the shower. We would have loved to spend more time on the island especially relaxing at the house and using the BBQ and kitchen more. Our 3-night stay was short and sweet! Thank you Mary and Fred for sharing your guest home and being incredible hosts.

Quiet, Country Elegance with a View
If you are looking to stay in a clean, well-kept garden oasis with views of the Sound, this is the place for you. The host is very thoughtful, having left very detailed notes and information for every aspect of the stay (from kitchen operation to local hikes, even light switches are labeled). And the home is a perfect blend of comfort and simiplicity. I enjoyed sitting outside and watching eagles soar above the water, while eating a meal I cooked in the well-stocked kitchen. The hot tub was incredibly helpful after long days outdoors. The living space is small but not cramped. The bed was soft and well appointed, and clean spare items (such as pillows and extra bedding) were available. Windows throughout the house could be opened for fresh air, and when closed kept the home warm at night. The bathrooms were also clean, and they had enough towels and bathrobes for two people to use for several days. The towel warming rack was a nice touch. The kitchen was very well equipped. It is so small I kept thinking they wouldn't have what I needed, but I was always pleasantly surprised to find exactly the right pan or tool. For my stay I was out most of the time, so I did not interact much with the hosts. I felt like I was living in my own private space. I never heard the horses or the neighbors, just the wind and the lapping waves. I would love to visit again.
