We received the check in info days prior to arrival so we knew where to park and had the passcode to enter the building when we arrived. Parking was quite tight behind the building (for our suv) but the instructions listed other options for parking if the back lot wasn’t an option. Upon entering the building, you must walk up a long flight of stairs to access the apartment. The building appears to have sustained some water damage in that stairway and there was a hole in the wall with a humidifier running. The stairway had a musty smell. Entry to the apartment was easy, there’s a keypad on the door. The 2 bedrooms and kitchen are a nice size. The living room was small with one couch, 2 chairs and a coffee table. The tv is large and the sound system was more than adequate. We turned the AC on when we got there and it took a beat to start cooling down. The location is great, we were able to take our pup out to a grassy spot right around the building to do her business. We discovered there were lots of frogs in the creek out back and our dog had great fun running along the bank scaring the frogs back into the water. The Main Street was very quiet which we were quite grateful for on night two of our stay. The second night we returned from a wedding at the Omni to discover that the AC was not working. Our poor little girl had been locked up in the apartment and the thermostat read 78 degrees! It was pretty hot in there. We threw open all the windows, took her out for walk and hoped we would be able to get the place cool enough to sleep. Fortunately, it did cool down enough with all the apartment windows open, to get a little shut eye, sleeping on top of the covers. Thankfully, even though the apartment was on Main Street, it was very quiet and street noise did not disturb us. Not the softest bed but we were able to rest. Refrigerator and freezer adequately cooled. Shower had decent pressure and temp. The bathroom could have used an all over wipe down, the window sill had dead bugs and the baseboards were dirty. Lots of towels provided. There is a nice restaurant right on main with outside seating, they are dog friendly and we had breakfast there Saturday morning. Just down the street, a block or so, we discovered Lindsay’s Roost and ate lunch there. It’s a tiny hole in the wall but the burger, fries, onion rings and coleslaw were delish. The service was wonderful. Much easier on the pocket too! Hot Springs is a beautiful town with many friendly people.
