Wild Cedars - Cana Island - Lake Michigan - Amazing new home

Brand new house on Lake Michigan nestled in a cedar forest with great views of Cana Island from the shore.

Set in a beautiful wooded lot this unique 2,026 sq ft home will make you feel welcome. With covered decks, screen porch, natural wood burning stone fireplace with sunken seating, and accents of natural cedar with rustic charm and elegance.

Two bedrooms: One downstairs with queen bed and private deck looking out to Lake Michigan. The second upstairs with a king size bed. The first floor bedroom opens onto a private deck with great views of Lake Michigan.

The great room has huge picture windows looking out to the lake and a Panoramic door leading from the great room into the covered screen deck. A very comfortable king size sofa sleeper and armchairs are located in the great room to both take advantage of the view and enjoy the TV and BluRay player. There is also a game table in this room, a variety of board games, movies and books are available for your use. The great room also has a wood-burning fireplace with sunken seating area.

Overlooking the great room is a loft with a full size sofa-sleeper and seating looking out the front windows to the lake. Great place to sit, relax and read a book.

Off the great room is a dining room with table seating 8. The dining room also opens up to the screened deck area.

The kitchen is full equipped: Refrigerator/freezer with ice-maker, Gas range and electric oven, microwave and dishwasher. Coffee maker and other common small appliances are provided. The cabinet is stocked with typical staple items for your use.

There are two bathrooms: The first floor bathroom has a tub/shower and the upstairs bath a shower. Towels and washcloths are provided as well as travel shampoo and soap.

Amazing stay!
This is our 2nd stay here! This home is just so beautiful, impeccibly clean, and stocked with all kinds of things for the kids to do. Also, the owners are quick to respond with questions and provided some great dining recommendations. We truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back again.

Great Weekend!
This is an unbelievable property - from the location to the layout of the house to the amenities, everything was exactly as we wanted it. My husband, BIL, SIL and I stayed at the property over a long weekend, and it was genuinely the best time we’ve ever had away. Just watching the sunrise from our own private beach was enough, but there is so much more here than just a view. We cooked some really delicious food in the kitchen, and enjoyed our meals while surrounded by the woods, and listening to Lake Michigan. In addition, it is really close to Bailey’s Harbor and 20 minutes to Sister Bay. I would recommend this property in a second to anyone looking to get away to Door County.

This is our third visit to this property and we are never disappointed. The house is always clean and has all the expected amenities. However, what continues to bring us back is the quiet private location where we can sit on the deck and enjoy the sights and sounds of Lake Michigan.

Great spot on the quiet side of Door County
We were first time visitors to Door County and found this house to be a perfect location. Within a 20 minute drive of Sister Bay, Ephraim, and Egg Harbor, and 10 minutes of Baileys Harbor, the house offers complete serenity but for the lapping of the Lake Michigan waves. The house is steps away from a private, rocky beach, and a short drive from a more sandy, unpopulated public beach with a small parking lot. Cana Island lighthouse is a short walk away, and the lighthouse is visible from the backyard. The house is very well stocked--even including bug spray, which we only needed when hiking trails elsewhere in Door County. The house does not have AC, which we didn't even realize until the last day of our trip, when we got a little warm packing things up for our departure. There is almost always a breeze coming off the lake. No worries here about the pictures not being representative of the house--it's even nicer in person. Baileys Harbor is a charming small town with plenty of eating options. The house wifi is excellent, but once we left the house our Verizon coverage was spotty. Just tell the kids to be brave--the connection is much better as you get closer to town.

Wonderful stay - beautifully appointed and equipped brand new house that looks and feels very soulful (not an easy task in a new house - the little details throughout the house and sprinkled across the private wooded lot truly illustrate how much the owner's care). This is a beautiful property and home. My wife and I were here for a four-day stay and everyday we found more to love. We loved watching mergansers and gulls on the lake, as well as the closeness to so many wonderful sights and locations on the peninsula.

2+1=3 stays at Boreal Beach House properties.
This is our 2nd stay at this property and it's just as nice as ever, better even. Beautiful views of Cana Island, peaceful and quiet. Easy access to the county and state parks in the area and for a trip to Washington Island if you want to. We did that one day, an easy 35 minute drive to the ferry. Their other property is two lots south of this one and is just as nice, with an even better view of Cana Island. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This was our 2nd March stay and again the home was absolute perfection. We loved sitting by the wood-burning fireplace after a day of visiting our favorite Door Co spots. The owners graciously stocked plenty of wood for our stay. The home is incredibly clean and well-stocked with everything you could need. The property is quiet and private. Thank you for making your home available for rental- it allows me to pretend that I have a lake home :)

Stunning setting for a peaceful winter getaway!
We had a wonderful time at this property. We love Door County as a winter getaway to enjoy the scenic beauty and slower pace, do some snowshoeing and relax in front of a fireplace. This house delivered! Nestled in the woods, the proximity to Lake Michigan just steps away was a great feature. We stayed cozy inside watching the snow swirl outside through the tall windows in the great room. The woodburning fireplace with the sunken seating area was my favorite thing about this house - perfect for conversations and reading. The home is very clean and comfortable, nicely furnished, and we especially appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was with a variety of cookware, dishes and serving pieces, utensils, as we ended up cooking most of our meals. We would definitely return to this property in the future.
