The very helpful owner added 3 small beds in the bedrooms, so every family had their own room and bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped, with a lot of extra's. 'We were an adult family group of n Sicily for the first time and Villa Consiglio was the perfect place to explore from. The Villa, pool and its many terraces enjoy views towards Palermo and Cefalu which could be easily reached by car or train. The villa was quiet and away from the centre but just a few minutes to the town by car. The owners went to great lengths to welcome us and Carlo was always available to deal with any questions, to guide us to the villa and run us to the train station....

'We had a great stay in the house. It is beautifully situated with view on the sea and the sunset and at the back the Mountain. The house is clean, spacious and comfortable and the garden and Pool are great! The town of Capaci is also nice and it is easy to do trips from there. The owners are very committed that your stay is comfortable and communication was very easy. Overall a great stay and a great house!'

'Very warm welcome by Gaetano, his wife and daughter. We felt immediately at home. Also very clean (house and swimming pool). Gaetano explained where we could find supermarkets, restaurants, things to see and do. The garden has lemon trees, where we could pick lemons as much as we needed. 'Our stay here was perfect! The house is large and has plenty of private and shared spaces for a big group. We had 13 people (6 adults, 6 kids and 1 infant) and the bedroom layout was great. There is only one en-suite bedroom, but there are plenty of full bathrooms to go around on each floor. 'The hotel is close to the bus and train stations, and the area is relatively dirty, but the hotel and rooms were perfectly cleaned. Electrical appliances function there barely. There is almost nothing functional. The area was also quieter than other parts of the city. The kitchen needs to be repaired and needs a little more cleaning as no one uses that part. The shortage of electrical power was causing lots of trouble. I was even unable to use the hairdryer with the hot air blower. The cleaner...

"Prachtig hotel met heel veel vriendelijk personeel, maar bij met name het ontbijt doen ze niet veel, zeer ervaren in het rondkijken met de handen op de rug. Lege glazen en borden worden sporadisch meegenomen en zeker niet beide. Schoon bestek krijg je niet. Dit is een 5 sterren Luxe onwaardig"

"Het hotel is perfect voor een rustige en relaxte vakantie. Het zit op een berg iets buiten de stad waardoor het er lekker rustig is. Ze bieden shuttle service om naar het strand of stad te gaan. Maar mocht je een eigen auto hebben is dit ook goed te doen. Je kan er een parkeerplaats bij huren voor 5 euro per dag. Dit is wel handig want parkeren aan de straat raad ik niet aan. Ook de verdere service is top. Je heb een zwembad/gym/restaurant. En je kan ze ook alles vragen bij de receptie. Resumé het is een top hotel"

A hidden gem

"This hotel has four stars, but in my opinion it would certainly deserve a fifth one. It's right in the historic centre, but located between a lovely quiet square and a narrow ancient street, which makes it a very quiet environment - an island of silence right in the middle of a very loud and busy city. Very friendly staff, cool classic and relatively spacious rooms, and of course the lounge (which looks like a medieval cloister) with a live pianist is breathtaking. On second thought - the hotel might be just perfect without a fifth star - I wouldn't want the extremely reasonable prices to go up :)"
