My husband, I and 4 teenagers stayed at the cabin. Though the thought of NO Wi-Fi was mind boggling for them initially, we all had the most amazing time. We went to the river, played board games, puzzles. We grilled, used the fire pit w/provided wood. We enjoyed the open yard, they played baseball, football, hung out in the hammock, and just reconnected and enjoyed good company. I don’t think the kids even missed not having cell service.
The property is very secluded, but perfect for relaxing, disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of daily life and reconnecting with family. The cabin was clean and well stocked! Air conditioning was ice cold, perfect for escaping the summer heat when needed.
Though one bathroom, the hot water never ran out allowing us nice hot showers after long days in the river and sun. We even enjoyed a thunderstorm, the rain on the tin roof was relaxing and so soothing.
Heather was very responsive and even helped us figure the weather out to help plan our float trip around incoming rain.
I Highly recommend stopping in Ellington or another nearby town and get ice, milk, groceries or whatever is needed before hand. We thought we may be able to run to the store “real quick” initially… nope! A break from people is what we asked for, and that’s what we got! The road to the house is a drive, but it is picturesque and the scenery is beautiful. We had a minivan and was able to drive the road with no problems.
10/10 recommend and would return!
