'This is a really nice hotel - included very nice elements of Sri Lankan culture while maintaining all of the modern comforts you would expect out of a 4 star hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the pool area was super nice with great views of the ocean from every chair. Very relaxing. Wifi was also very strong throughout the entire resort grounds, and food was delicious with a lot of options in the buffet. The surrounding town of Hikkaduwa isn't the nicest, but you...

'Utrolig hyggelige og serviceminded. Vi fikk tilnog med en egen vert, som vi kunne kontakte nesten når som helst. Alt ordnet seg på beste måte. Tydelig at hotellet har et bra management. '

'Nice small hotel close to the beach, town and bars etc. Nice pool and bar area and food is good (we had to pay extra for breakfast). Ideal for a short break, the hotel arranged turtle swimming for us and can organise many other trips, also Spa on site. We had travelled from Tissa and first impressions here was that Marissa was very touristy and the route to the “secret beach” is a rubbish strewn dirt track, however once we settled in, we enjoyed the area.'

'Very good hotel, but they didn't have a room for us when we arrived, despite our having prepaid for it months in advance. Management dealt with it well by sending us to another hotel for one night. So, apart from causing us some anxiety, it was only a small glitch.. It's not in the center of things, but everything you'd wand to do is within a short, cheap tuk-tuk ride. Management is very helpful arranging these, and anything else you need. '
