Strandhotels in Yorkshire

'Visited for our 32nd wedding anniversary and was not disappointed. Booked a classic double room but when we arrived were informed that they upgraded us to an executive room which was really large and immaculately prepared. We had use of the spa facilities if needed for additional cost but free use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna for 1 hour per day which made for a relaxing time after a long walk around York. 'We really enjoyed our stay but found the cleaning timetable below expectations. We like to relax after lunch but our room was not cleaned until after 3pm which meant that we had to arrange our activities around the hotel schedule rather than the other way round. When we asked there appeared to be no flexibility in the cleaning schedule .'

'The room was very nice indeed, easily found a parking space, reception was very pleasant and helpful. 2 downsides. Firstly, there seemed to be some mix-up as to whether breakfast finished at 9 or 9.30, even staff serving breakfast unsure, there was a food shortage at 9.05 when we appeared, so we only selected one of each item to be courteous to other guests appearing after us. The food we did have was very nice. Second was the check-out time of 10am, it was a rush in the morning as opposed to...
