This hand-carved stone cottage has a ruins-like exterior and continues the theme as you go inside. Its well decorated cavern interior will wow you with its thoughtful layout and interesting construction technique.
On the main floor there is a full kitchen with concrete counters and dining bar, a sitting area with comfy chairs, a bathroom with a large tile shower and a bedroom with a queen bed and a private porch with a view of Lookout Mountain. Up the stone steps, you'll find a sweet bedroom loft with a full size bed and lots of windows with great views. Say hello to Tlaloc, the Aztec god of Rain and "that which sprouts" on the way up the steps.
Everyones' first word upon entering is "wow!" We never get tired of that and we're proud to be able to offer travelers a unique, clean, well-lit, luxurious cave dwelling
The Cavern on The Green is our second of two hand-carved, ruins style cottages. The other, the Bedrock Cave Cottage (vrbo# 971299) is next door. The two cottages sit in the middle of a twelve acre property and are situated such that each cottage has private areas outside. There is ample room for outdoor events and its a pretty sweet setup for an outdoor party with choice of bonfire sites.
A note about hot tubs. We have three homes for short term rental. Each has it's own hot tub. We maintain them at least every other day and always between guests. This maintenance includes cleaning filters and adjusting chemical balance and chlorine levels. They are drained and refilled often. Sometimes they may not be hot yet when you get there. (A real problem of you're only there for one night) We will always choose "cold but clean" over "hot and green" for our hot tubs. Occasionally, something might go wrong with them that requires parts to be ordered. While we always want our hot tubs clean, fresh and operating properly, we do not give refunds if they are not hot when you arrive or if something has happened that requires repair parts and you can't get the bubbles to blow just like you want them.
