'We stayed for one night during our anniversary weekend and had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Our dinners were unique to the restaurant and really delicious. The staff were all wonderful and welcoming, the room was clean and had what we needed. The history of the hotel is neat so if you like staying in places with a little history to it, this is definitely the place. '

'We were a bit worried upon arrival: The neighborhood looks uninviting at night... But when we checked in we were glad to be welcomed by a very friendly staff. The room itself was the next pleasant surprise. An impressive large, spacious Room with sitting area. The staff recommended us some nice restaurants, close to the hotel. We ended up at the German restaurant " Max's" which was at walking distance of the hotel. I would recommend both the hotel and the restaurant!'

'The Boggs Mansion is a restored old mansion with 8 rooms all of which are different. Guests are welcomed by a live-in house manager who attends to guest needs and provides breakfast each day. 'Beautiful historic building conveniently located in the Shadyside neighborhood. Very convenient free parking in a Pittsburgh hotel, which is usually inconvenient and expensive. We enjoyed meeting our family in the beautiful cocktail lounge, and the staff was very pleasant and most accommodating. My only criticism is that our room furniture was somewhat worn, with scratches in the wood, chipped edges, etc. The bathroom itself had been recently renovated, and the room itself was very clean.'

'Has sort of an 90’s throwback vibe, but for the price and the location, it is great. Near great restaurants and cheap cab rides to other neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. The staff was extremely thorough and friendly. It was like family. We got in around midnight and our rooms were waiting for us. Will definitely be back.'

'The breakfast was very good including the coffee (not everyone has good coffee). There is plenty of off street parking in a secure and well lit parking lot behind the building. There are actually 2 buildings and one appears to be all suites. I suggest you request a room in the suite building. You might also request a room towards the back of the building as street noise could be an issue for those who are light sleepers. Finally, if you plan to visit the wineries in the area plan to do so early...
