'Nice stay '

'Once again we had an amazing time and truly enjoyed the unique experience of staying in a church. Spent the weekend with our adult children and their spouses and lots of fun was had by all. The only suggestion is to have room darkening film put on the angel and loft windows.'

'The property was beautiful surrounded by nature and a fountain garden. We enjoyed our stay there. The only issue we had was the room above us had a party and the noise kept us awake until 5 am. The walls were thin and the floors were squeaky, you could hear the rooms above us had a party with too many guests. It would have been nice to have a host there to greet and make aware of extra unwanted guests. '

'With a home name like "The Castle" The bar is pretty high, both from the perspective of grandiosity but also from the perspective of comfort of all the guests and I have to say the house delivered in spades on all fronts. 'What a great place. We only stayed for a night but we’ll be back. Great kitchen and dining table to play cards. Very very charming. Fireplace is beautiful. Thank you for the presto log we enjoyed it. '

'One of the most interesting places I've rented. It's an old house that has been added onto multiple times which gives it a bit of a maze feel. But I appreciate the way the house was renovated to add in modern comfort, but let the age and character of the house show. Loved being able to see the hand hewn beams in the upstairs bedroom. The beds were comfortable and with 4 bedrooms and bathrooms, getting everybody ready for the wedding was easy. '

'Was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There are steep stairs so if you have really young children or bad knees it might not be the best option for you. My kids loved it and thought it was the coolest experience. The castle itself does have a bathroom with shower, a full size refrigerator, and a full size stove/oven which was not on the listing. 'This home provides everything one needs for a trip to Maine. The refreshing mornings in the kitchen were delightful. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, and the pantry and organization was excellent. Everything was easy to find for meal prep. The coffee bar also was a great addition. The views from the pool deck were breathtaking. Plenty of pool toys for the kids, and the hot tub was just right. 'The outside decorations were well thought out and detailed, same for the inside. Everything stuck to the medieval theme, even the air vents. Hot tub and sauna were delightful. Downstairs lounge was perfect for watching movies and playing games. '

'Overall we did enjoy the stay and was mostly perfect for us. There was some confusion with check in/out process and parking but they were responsive and easy to get ahold of. Our biggest issue is that the general description says 4 bedrooms, 4 queen+ beds. The description does clarify this a little but we ended up bringing and using a blow up mattress because we weren't sure. The 4th bedroom is actually off of the 3rd bedroom. And while the 4th bedroom has a queen bed, the 3rd bedroom does not...

'Birdsell Castle exceeded all expectations we had. So much detail had been put into this castle. We were beyond mesmerized. It is very much a labor of love. David, Aaron & Jill are good people. They are so kind and very accommodating. We can’t wait to return in the warmer season and experience the festivities. '
