Start your day with coffee on the porch listening to the call of the loons on beautiful, 7 mile long Highland Lake in Stoddard. This private, tranquil setting is your perfect lake escape. Ranch style log home is adorned with a knotty pine interior, and nestled on a very private, quiet, lakeside setting. 2 bedrooms sleep 6 comfortably with full bath, outdoor shower, double bed, bunk beds and twin bed, 2 comfy sofas, and a day bed on the porch (like sleeping under the stars). Also includes use of 3 kayaks, canoe, 2 fishing poles, and 2 bicycles.

While our free WIFI service with Roku access will allow you to "stay connected", there are plenty of recreational activities within walking distance; Highland Lake Marina - 1/2 mile, Stoddard General Store - 1 mile, hiking trail to Stoddard Rocks/Pioneer Lake - 1/2 mile. Drive or hike to the top of nearby "Blueberry" Pitcher Mtn. (Yankee Magazine's top NE blueberry picking spot). Hike Pitcher Mtn. Fire Tower. Stoddard boasts over 65% of Conservation Land, with miles of recreational trails for hiking or biking. Horseback riding nearby, known for stellar fishing, kayaking, swimming, bird watching, and of course, relaxing!
~Only 15 minutes to Keene's shopping, restaurants, and cultural activities
~20 minutes to Mt. Long weekend relaxing getaway
The only real negative on our stay was that the home smelled very musty but with all the rain we have had this summer and the age of the home, it is probably to be expected. Otherwise for most of the weekend we were the only ones on the street. Also I thought the property was more lakefront than it was. It was more lake view with a footpath down a steep hill to the lake across the street. Otherwise we had a few surprises with some fresh apples, granola bars, cider and creamer. Water is not drinkable but they left us plenty of water bottles and jugs for our consumption.

Me and my wife enjoyed our stay.Very relaxing cabin, great porch to have coffee in the morning facing the water. It rained most of the trip, but we still had a good time. The property listing may need to be updated ,since it lists a hot tub however the property doesn't have one. The owner Mary was very pleasant and cabin was very clean

Construction starting at 6 AM and continuing until 7 PM along with multiple nights of fireworks explosions until 11 PM. The lake is supposed to be a place to go for peace and quiet. Mary was very responsive and addressed all of our concerns as best as possible. Thank you.

Cozy home in woods with lovely ponds around
Mary has set up these house for all your needs, wants desires. She responded immediately to any of our needs and even helped us to use the library while we were there. Stoddard is close to many wonderful spots for hiking, swimming, eating and attending concerts and farmer’s markets. Thank you dear Mary for a wonderful vacation!

Cute spot to get away from it all
Very cute and clean cabin. Was provided with plenty of bottled water and some extras we weren't expecting (bug spray, k-cups, s'mores kit, shampoo/conditioner/soaps). The regular coffee pot in the cabin was no good, so stick to bringing k-cups if you're a coffee drinker. And pots/serving bowls are available but very limited so if you have a group with you like we did, bring your own to accommodate a lot of cooking. The area is VERY rural so make sure you have what you need before you arrive or plan on a 25 min drive to Keene for shopping. The local general store is nearby but it is very basic and limited for any supplies. And just as an fyi for others because we didn't realize until we got there, but you can't swim in the water near the cabin. The entire side of the lake near the cabin is full of Lily pads. Very pretty for boating though and saw lots of fish.

Nice, rustic cabin on Highland Lake
Cabin was small, but met the needs of my husband, puppy and I. Was clean and had what we needed for the week. Screened porch was a nice retreat in the evenings. Scenery was beautiful. We planned our trip at the perfect time of the fall season.

We loved our stay in your cute cabin. My husband had grown up in Stoddard, so it was fun for him to come back as a tourist. We were able to visit with nearby relatives and will always remember this sweet Fall vacation.

Beautiful setting, very secluded.
If you are looking to get away from it all, this place is for you. I give 5 stars because I missed that lovely porch, coffee in the morning there was my favorite part of the day. However, the double bed leaves a lot to be desired. The walk to the lake isn't for the faint of heart. But once you decide to go for it, kayaking is wonderful. Mary is a wonderful host, very responsive and accessible. This little cabin in the woods will quite your mind.

Fantastic cabin get away for the four legged and 2 legged!
We had a great time at Mary’s cabin! The neighborhood was very quiet other than the calming sounds of the loons. Our dog, Ellie, loved the little cove and dove off the dock to retrieve sticks thrown in the lake about a million times while one of us kayaked. We went to Island pond beach to swim and enjoyed that quite a bit. We got ice cream at the little store to cool off after hiking pitcher mountain, which had amazing views! All the activities were w/in a few miles of Mary’s cabin. The cabin was well stocked with plenty of paper towels, TP, and water. We were there during a very hot heat wave and the bottled water was very much appreciated. We loved the outdoor shower, too! There is a lovely sitting area in the back yard, which was our morning coffee spot. The only drawback (hence the 4stars on cleanliness) was that we had to use fans (of which there was plenty) and they were very dirty. Took me a long time to clean a few well enough to use. Not a big deal tho! Mary was very easy to work with and super responsive.

Nice little cabin in the woods of New Hampshire. Sitting on the porch and listening to the Loons is so relaxing. Mary is a great host and took great care of us. Getting to the lake was a bit of a challenge but once on the water the kayaking was great.

Peaceful hideaway
Peaceful hideaway was just what we were looking for while we were in New Hampshire celebrating a family wedding. Mary was a wonderful host and responded to my calls when I had a couple of questions.
