If you're looking for a special oasis to spend quality family time in one of Kingsley Lake's original homes, you've hit the jackpot. If you are working at Camp Blanding for a week or a month, even better! Our lakefront home has a large lawn, tons of personality and anyone that visits will find serenity, peace, and beauty nestled among live oaks dripping with Spanish Moss.
Kingsley Lake is one of the cleanest, most beautiful lakes in Florida, with a white sand bottom. The house is just down the street from Camp Blanding, a couple of miles from historic Starke, FL, where you'll find restaurants, a movie theater stuck in time, and everything you might need if you forgot something at home.
We're about 45 minutes from Jacksonville shopping, culture, and sports, including the Jaguars (football) and Armada (soccer), and about the same distance from Gainesville - where you can go watch the Florida Gators play at the stadium and, much more. Whether you are working, going to a football game, or visiting family, this is the perfect place for quiet respite.
The house has 5 bedrooms, 9 beds (plus toddler bed), a large dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room with a computer, free WIFI and cable, and best of all a large enclosed porch with windows all around to enjoy the lake view. The porch has plenty of room to eat, play games, or sit on a rocker and watch the children play on the wide grassy lawn.
The dock has plenty of room for everyone to chat, read, have lunch, swim and/or sunbathe. There are 4 kayaks available for use, and nothing beats an early morning jaunt around the lake when the birds are chirping and everything else is quiet.
In event of rain, we have a large living room and, of course, the porch for relaxing. You'll find a big-screen TV with streaming capabilities and a computer should you have to check in to the office.
We only accept groups of 10 or fewer, and ask that you be respectful of this lovely old home and honor its 10 guest limitation. It's great for a large family, or a crew doing work in the area but if you are looking for a place to have a larger gathering, this is NOT the house for you.
PLEASE reserve our home with the actual amount of guests you anticipate to avoid surprises on either side.
A few notes:
1. There is no public boat launch on Kingsley Lake at this time and no ability to launch any boats, jet skis, etc., from our home.
2. The 10 guest limit is strictly enforced, and you will be asked to leave if you have excess guests or cars (whether day or evening or overnight). Please remember and respect this limitation.
3. The property manager and several other tenants live in homes on the property who you may (or may not) run into on the dock infrequently during your stay. There's plenty of room for all.
Thank you for your consideration of our home. We look forward to your visit.
