'This is a beautiful, peaceful property. We enjoyed the huge rooms, gorgeous dining room, and decent gym. The spa consisted of a small sauna and steam room (which we could not open, and there was no one working there to open it). But it was very difficult to find, as the Expedia address took us to a house 15 minutes away. We had to put the name of the hotel into Google to find it, but there was no sign at the front of the property, which just looks like a house from the road, so it was all very...

'Zeer compleet ingericht huis. We hebben genoten met ons gezin (vier kinderen: 17,15, 13 en 10 jaar oud) van het huis, zwembad, tuin en het onvergetelijke uitzicht. Op de rivier kun je heel leuk vlakbij een boot huren met een band er achter of waterskiën. Marcos is super behulpzaam bij alles wat je maar kunt bedenken. Echt een plek om terug te komen. 'Large property with extensive gardens, providing everything you could want on holiday. Content to sit by the window and watch the boats going up and down the river, very relaxing. Lovely pool, although sadly unable to use it because of the weather. Tiago was very helpful and responded immediately to any queries. Would thoroughly recommend!'

'We had a wonderful stay at this quiet green country home at the river Douro. It was only 15 minutes away from Porto city and it was such a delight to return home after sightseeing and being able to relax on the terrace overlooking the river. There is also a wonderful swimming pool which is a walk uphill. The pool was cleaned every morning. Everything you need is at the house. Thank you, Elsa, for your hospitality!'

'Gaia is across the river from Porto; a short ride to downtown but away from the throngs of tourists. The beach and beach restaurants are a five minute walk from the house. Joaquim was a wonderful host and the accommodations felt like a five star hotel. we would definitely stay here again.'
