Activities and Tours: A number of charter businesses operate in and around Savusavu, they offer diving, sailing and fishing charters. There are also local tour companies which offer village visits, waterfall hikes etc. Vehicle rentals are available - there are a number of rental companies in Savusavu that can be of assistance in this regard. Take a tour of J Hunter Pearls, the local Black Pearl farm, ending with a visit to their retail store, what a way to cap off your holiday. Savusavu is a haven for yachts so why not enjoy the calm waters of Savusavu Bay.
Dining: There are a number of excellent restaurant options available from tasty curries to fine dining. Start with a drink at the local yacht club and then try out Savusavu's Surf N Turf an unexpected oasis in a small island town. Perhaps venture down to the Planters Club and chat with some of the old timers who will tell you what life was like when Savusavu was a thriving Copra (Coconut) Plantation area. Some of the resorts will offer dining if space permits, but always call first and give as much notice as possible. Captains Cafe does great meals with a great variety of foods. Shopping: There are grocery stores, butcher, bakeries, liquor store and wine shop and a local produce and seafood market all available in Savusavu township. Pharmacy items are limited so if you have special requirements it is best to bring along with you. A private doctor and government hospital are also available. Handicraft shops and markets also offer locally made souvenirs.
