"Ruime kamers, mooie zwembad "

"Het hotel is mooi en schoon, met een modern design. Het in- en uitcheckproces is zeer snel en efficiënt. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk. De gym is verdeeld in twee ruimtes: één voor cardio en één voor krachttraining. Het beschikt over goede en voldoende apparatuur. Het ontbijt is gratis, beperkt in keuze maar verder prima. De producten zijn vers en de zoetwaren zijn heerlijk. Elke dag worden er twee gratis flesjes water in de kamer verstrekt. Het eten in het restaurant is iets duurder in vergelijking met lokale restaurants, maar zeker acceptabel voor wat je krijgt. Het eten was lekker. De locatie is iets verder van het centrum, ongeveer 1,5 km. Voor ons was dit prima, omdat we graag een stukje wandelen. De route naar het centrum is vrij aangenaam. Daarnaast is er gratis parkeergelegenheid beschikbaar. Het hotel is relatief goedkoop en biedt een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding."

"The unique selling point of this property is its closeness to the central train station. Links to most of the towns between Lecce and Bari and beyond are easy and fairly quick. In its former glory, as the railway hotel, this would have been the go-to accommodation for many Travellers and an overnight stay a normal thing to do. The opulence of the Grand Hotel at Lecce would have wowed the guests and there would have been a constant topping and doing of waiters and staff. There would have been a proper restaurant and kitchen serving up nice meals with local produce and the guests would have gone to bed without ever having to leave the hotel. Maybe this situation prevailed even beyond 2016 when the hotel was still listed in the Michelin Red Guide. Now, however, after the ravages of COVID and the various lockdowns that followed, the kitchen only operates for breakfast and the restaurant is a mere memory. Who knows? Maybe the restaurant will come back. It would make a lot of sense in this grand edifice. "
