A unique property set on the hillside above Sanremo. This stunning two-storey flat is part of the former residence of Dorothy Hodgkin, a Nobel Prize-winning chemist. It enjoys stunning sea views and makes a great base for a holiday on the Riviera dei Fiori.
The apartment is just 500m from the sea and sleeps up to 10 people, which makes it ideal for family gatherings or a group of friends. The contemporary décor is striking, with each room offering something completely original.
On the upper floor, guests can enjoy a spacious kitchen/dining room with a large dining table, a computer workspace, large flat-screen TV and Ms Hodgkin’s original piano, which is in working order. Large French windows open onto an attractive balcony which looks out over the sea. The colourful kitchen is well-equipped with an induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and electric coffee machine.
Downstairs is a separate sitting room with two stylish sofas and a large glass door which opens onto the private garden. The garden is well-tended with a table and chairs where guests can relax in the sun and enjoy the sea breeze.
Sleeping
The bedrooms are each uniquely decorated. There are 4 bedrooms with a double bed (2 of these also have a private balcony) and two bedrooms with a single bed. Each bedroom has a Smart TV and wardrobe.
Extra: The sofa in the living room converts into a double bed.

There are 3 spacious bathrooms. Each one has a shower, basin, bidet and WC.

Location
The apartment is in an exclusive area to the west of Sanremo’s old town, just a 5 minute drive from the beach. The old town has charming cobbled streets and excellent family-run restaurants. Sanremo is known for the annual Sanremo Music Festival which is held in late February or early March. There is also the Sanremo Car Rally, the Rallye Sanremo, which takes place in October.
The old town’s covered market is a must (every day except Sunday). Here you can buy the best local olive oil, cheeses, wines, vegetables and fruit.
For something more active, the Ponente Ligure cycle path runs for 24km along the coast and makes a great day out for families.
The closest airport is at Nice (France) which is a 1 hour, 5 minute drive. Genoa airport is 1 hour and 45 minutes from the apartment.
