'When we arrived at the hotel, the whole site smelled of sewage. The restaurant area, the grounds, the pool area. When we asked why they said the pipes had broke. But when we tried to get our monies back and leave there was no manager at the hotel. The desk person said the manager lives in Mexico. When even Expedia tried to get in touch with the hotel to get a refund for us they coudln't get an answer. '

'The staff went over and beyond to make my birthday trip a success. They work as a team and was very informative. This place is close to the truck stop and Secret beach. You have to drive just a little ways from downtown but it’s an adventure on the golf cart. Room service is provided through their sister property but was speedy with delivery. If you want spa treatment it’s cheaper to get it through Belizean Shore rather than the sister property which does the treatment anyway but prices are...

'Paid over $600 US for three people, decided to leave San Pedro earlier than planned due to harassment by hawkers, emailed Amelias explaining would not be checking in, told no problem, go to hotel in person before arrival date for full refund. 'We have been staying at Grand Colony for years. The reason we keep returning is the convenience of walking down the beach to the dive shop, having a full size kitchen and individual bedrooms for everyone. There are no amenities to speak of. No restaurant, no bar, no spa, the beach chairs have seen better days but so has the beach. The sea grass is nothing Grand Colony can help but it does make the ocean unswimable.
