'Property is clean and a beautiful location. Needs a store/gift shop for essentials. Nothing available on site and you either must rent a golf cart for an hour ride into town or a cab. $50/$100 USD respectively. Island itself needs alot of work. Nothing is priced Belizean, everything is USD, and expensive. '

But when we tried to get our monies back and leave there was no manager at the hotel. The desk person said the manager lives in Mexico. When even Expedia tried to get in touch with the hotel to get a refund for us they coudln't get an answer. '

'We have been staying at Grand Colony for years. The reason we keep returning is the convenience of walking down the beach to the dive shop, having a full size kitchen and individual bedrooms for everyone. There are no amenities to speak of. No restaurant, no bar, no spa, the beach chairs have seen better days but so has the beach. The sea grass is nothing Grand Colony can help but it does make the ocean unswimable.
