Spectacular views on Wequetequock Cove! Minutes from the Barn Island boat launch & trails, ten minutes from Mystic and Westerly, RI, and half an hour from Misquamicut and Watch Hill, RI beaches. Travel by boat to Sandy Point, Napatree, Watch Hill, and beyond! Ten minutes to Stonington Borough, with its shops, restaurants, museums, and historic sites. This quaint home was built in 1924 and has been in our family ever since. Enjoy relaxing views from the veranda or walk the trails at the Barn Island nature preserve. Bring your boat or jet ski and launch from the Barn Island boat launch, just .6 miles away. A mooring in the cove is available for boats with up to a three-foot draft. Smaller crafts such as kayaks and dinghies can launch directly from the waterfront.
The house is secluded on 4.7 acres, bounded on two sides by state land, the third side by a family lot, and on the last side by the water. The Barn Island Wildlife Management Area around the land creates a quiet oasis in a busy area.
The bright original vintage kitchen has a full-size fridge and cabinets as well as a full-size electric range. It's stocked with full sets of dishes, pots and pans, and serving and baking dishes. Basic spices and condiments are included. The interior of the house is shabby-yet-chic and is charmingly old-fashioned. Outdoors, a large gas grill awaits your BBQing pleasure. There is an older washer and dryer in the unfinished basement and a clothesline for wet clothes outside by the cabana.
Our guest book, located in the kitchen, provides detailed information and instructions on staying in the house, along with maps, addresses, and phone numbers of area attractions.
