The unit is located at Surfside South Condominiums 8th floor unit 804... ammenties include pool, indoor lounge area, outdoor grills and Wi-Fi. Step off the pool deck onto the beach! Not sure if we would stay again.
This will be a very honest review. There was building maint. going on during our 2 weeks stay. From 8:30am till 4:00pm very loud jack hammering. It was horrible. This an old building, built in 1971 i believe. Not the fault of the host, but would have stayed somewhere else if we were told this. Spoke with building manager and maint. will be going on till next year. There were roaches, now this is Florida and didnt bother me but did the wife. We had the building manager come in and spray. The wife went to local hardware and bought roach traps. Now the location is hard to beat, and the view from the 8th floor balcony was stunning. The traffic was nuts, not the fault of the host. We are from a very small town in Northern Michigan that doesnt even a stop light. To me it was bad. The location saved this place for me, i would stay again but the wife will not. The area is so nice we actually looked at some condo's to buy. The residents in the building are very nice and friendly. Before booking any condo in this buidling make sure the maint. is done.

Our vacation was very enjoyable. The weather was beautiful and the view was fantastic!
Our vacation was very enjoyable. The weather was beautiful and the view was fantastic! We did have a few issues. The ice maker did not work. We pulled it away from the wall to make sure things were hooked up. When we did that, there were a few cockroaches that scurried away. We bought spray and didn’t see anymore the rest of the week. The condo smelled very musty. We bought candles and had the patio door open as much as possible. We were not able to use the laundry on the floor we were on. There were no curtains in the second bedroom and the window opens to the hall. The twin beds in the second bedroom are not made for adults-very uncomfortable! Overall cleanliness was very poor. If I had a mop I would have cleaned the floor. My socks were black after walking throughout the condo. Towels are terrible. Unit looked rundown. Drapes were broken. Kitchen could use better pan and cooking utensils. Toaster was worthless. It would be nice to have a second key. We inquired about more keys but did not get a reply back. We were able to get a second key from the maintenance man.

Other than the pesky bedroom drapes that won’t close completely, everything was fine. Would return.
Location, location, location…. 8th floor oceanfront unit in desirable Ormond by the Sea. The building is undergoing repairs to the concrete balconies and replacement of ALL windows, so there was drilling noise M-F between 8:30 and 3:30, likely to continue for another year or so. The hot water supply was fantastic, as was the water pressure. The king bed was very comfortable. Polyester sheets aren’t my favorite. In need of upgrades: towels and washcloths, and frying pan.

Great View
This property has a great ocean view and a good location away from the worst of the traffic. There was noise during the day from work being done on the building. The unit could use a refresh, especially the drapes which do not work. The owner was responsive.

not a pleasant experience
Upon first entering unit i noticed there were repairs going on in the guest bedroom which made it unusable. Also the guest toilet was not bolted to the floor so it rocked. The curtains in both the living area and bedroom were broke so you could not open them for the view. AND we had palmetto bugs.

I booked this trip for my parents in their 80s. They had a wonderful time. Loved the area and pool. Enjoyed the condo, just said it needed to be updated. They plan on going back again. Thank you!!

The owner made it right
Due to some construction miscommunication on the building, we had to vacate just 3 days into our vacation. The owner refunded our money and was willing to try to work with us to find another unit. We did however end up moving from this property completely. I will say that Matt, the property managers, and the construction crew were all VERY helpful and polite given the circumstances. Sometimes things happen, but because they were willing to work with us trying to find a solution, it made a very stressful day that much better. I'm only disappointed that we lost nearly an entire day of our vacation because of this. Otherwise, the unit was fine.

The only issue was curtains in living room and balcony were broken. Would not open all the way and hard to open. The toilet in the bathroom with shower was shaking. Not seated on the floor good. Ice maker in fridge wouldn’t work. Other than those minor issues the condo was great.

The unit is as shown in the listing. Many upgrades. Well stocked with needed supplies. Very clean. Manager was quick to respond to messages. Great location and access to many restaurants and grocery. We were there 1st week of May and was not crowded at all.

Great Location but bad owner communication
The place is in a great location and the beach is wonderful. Had a bad experience because one of the showers was leaking and on the first day we were woke up by the property manager to let us know they were going to do work on the shower. They ended up ripping the shower floor out and putting it out of order for the whole trip. Dealing with random workers while we were on vacation was not pleasant and having 4 women in a condo and only 1 working shower was hard. I spoke to the owner who agreed to refund us some money but never did even when I contacted him several times over months. He just ignored my messages. Also sometimes assigned parking spot was taken, but there was parking outside the building so it wasn’t too inconvenient.

Ormond Beach oceanfront stay
The property was on the eights floor ocean front. The two bedroom condo was a little older but everything worked and the amenities were great. There was a pool and it was only steps to the beach. We tried to combine a small beach vacation with the Daytona 500 and proximity to both was great. It only took 35 minutes to the track and all the restaurants of South and North Daytona were all in a 30 to 45 minute distance. We had a great time. The room had a nice kitchen setup. So we could have breakfast and late dinners after the race at the room. We just used frozen stuff, so cooking was very minimal, but we didn't want to spend our vacation cooking. I could recommend this place to everyone if it is family or boys and girls getaways.

Coming from frozen Minnesota, the balcony, poolside, & marvelous beach so very close were our main wishes & delights. The condo is very spacious & comfortable & close to many marvelous restaurants, groceries, & scenic drives. One key was kinda limiting. The dishes, glassware & silverware were darling. The lack of a can opener, pizza cutter, & usable fry pans was not. Overall, it was a good value & we would return

The condo was just as the pictures looked. The unit was tight on the beach. The view from the balcony was spectacular. The furniture and appliances were a little dated but everything was clean and comfortable. We were close to downtown Ormond Beach with nice restaurants and shopping.

Paradise
We wanted a condo with fantastic oceanfront views. This was more than we were hoping for. We loved the huge windows and patio doors leading out to the balcony. The open concept kitchen/dining/living room was very spacious. Loved having the kitchen with full size stove, fridge. and dishwasher. since most meals we made at the condo. The owner’s description was very accurate and he had quick and easy communication. We’ve been renting condos for years but this is our new favorite!!

Perfect location for a great week
First of all, I want to say the owner, Matt, is a genuinely nice guy as well as attentive to his renters. We had a few bumps but his response was prompt. The condo is comfortable and the views from the balcony and large windows to the ocean are stunning. Dan the resident manager was very helpful. If I were to make a suggestion it would be a better-equipped kitchen. All appliances are there but cooking utensils and pots and pans were old and sparse. For those like me who cook on vacation it pretty easy to bring your favorite tools. We definitely will plan a return visit.

Several things were a problem when we got there. Refrigerator and cupboards were not cleaned out, we had to do it, kitchen sink faucet was broke but got repaired within a week. Ice maker in Refrigerator was not working, never did. Screen on sliding glass door to deck was broken, no internet connection in apartment, had to go downstairs to lobby and use theirs, No grill as stated in review. Grills are not allowed in the complex. Carpet needs cleaning or replaced. Dishwasher door did not open easily until my brother in law fixed it. We loved the view of the ocean and the location was wonderful. People were very friendly and helpful. Repair man, Dan was great and very nice. Management gave us no problems. If the repairs get done, we may come back.
