'Clean, very modest hotel along a road that is quite busy (noisy) during traffic time. Staff very kind and accommodating. On site coffee shop (Ticoffee) offers an interesting menu.'

'Our stay at the Refugio Lodge exceeded all of our expectations, with Augustin and the staff making us feel at home. The hotel was beautiful with clean and spacious rooms. The attached cafe (with free breakfast included) was amazing and i still think about the banana pancakes and coffee. The location was unbeatable being in the heart of Tamarindo, next to the farmers market, walking distance to all the restaurants, and being less than a 5 minutes walk from the beach. 'Tamarindo is in the middle of a building boom and it was all around the hotel. They worked extra hard to make our stay comfortable and quiet. Lovely place with a fun and very helpful staff. Easy access to the beach and walkable for most of Tamarindo.'

'Shannon was an excellent host. Nice breakfast each morning sat above the pool area. Our bungalow was clean and comfortable with daily maid service. A few minutes walk to the lively town and beach where all the action of Tamarindo is going on. The pool was great to cool down and relax in the hammocks and day beds under the shade. The bungalows are an excellent small, homely oasis to chill out and escape the corporate world. We would stay again with Shannon and her lovely staff. '

'We were only passing through for a night but this place was amazing! Vincent was super helpful with restaurant suggestions and there were a few great places within a 5 minute walking distance. The shower was huge and had hanging plants. very comfortable bed, and great pool...will definitely stay here again'
