First, let me say the owner Justin seems like a nice guy. He met us there, started a fire, lit candles, and showed us around. He was polite, sincere, and pleasant. The house is very comfortable and unique with plenty of space. The kitchen has everything you could ever need and there are outside cooking options also. The acreage is beautiful and we saw quail, turkey, elk, birds of prey, and more every day. The river is beautiful and the owner's riverfront Pavillion is lovely. Here is my only negative: Justin lives there and it felt like we were staying in our uncle's cabin, not a rental prepared for paying guests. There was laundry in the washer, socks by the bed, the bedspread in the master smelled like aftershave, cold coffee left in the pot, lots of food in the (not very clean) fridge, white dog hair everywhere (my dog is black), thick dust on many surfaces, the windows are very dirty which kind of reduces the beautiful views. In other words, I think the owner woke up there that morning and made arrangements to stay elsewhere during our visit and maybe tidied up a bit, and left. Would I stay again? Probably, but I'd be prepared to spend some time cleaning before I settled in to relax. Some major spring cleaning (perhaps get a few women in there) and the place will be an easy 5 stars.
