The house is located in the vast territory of Mazzarino, an ancient feudal village, an area of important archaeological sites. It is located inside an old farm of 1898 and overlooks its internal beam. It is surrounded by a typical countryside of the Sicilian hinterland, characterized by plots of land planted with olive trees, almonds and prickly pears.
It is a few kilometers from Caltagirone, Piazza Armerina, Aidone and Morgantina, the latter famous for its Greek theater.
Of particular importance and naturalistic interest is the presence of Monte Formaggio which faces the farm and contributes to the vision of spectacular sunsets. The accommodation is ideal for relaxing holidays and as a starting point for excursions and visits throughout Sicily.
Nearby are large areas of forests where you can go hiking. At 5 km away, in the municipality of San Cone, there is a riding school where you can book horseback riding. In about half an hour by car you can reach:
- Aidone with the museum inside which Venus di Milo and the famous Argenti are located, the archaeological area of Morgantina;
- Piazza Armerina with its ancient historic center and the Villa del Casale, a UNESCO heritage site.
-Caltagirone with its ancient villas and famous ceramics;
- the sea of Gela with the beach of Macchitella.
About an hour away is Etna: with the ancient littorine of the Circumetnea railway it is possible to make an unforgettable excursion to see the ancient lava flows and the lunar landscapes.
An hour and a half away, in the province of Agrigento, the wonderful Valle Dei Templi, a UNESCO heritage site.
