Secluded Stream Side Bungalow

Only 90 minutes from Christchurch you will find this secluded property nestled between the old school and architecturally renowned St Andrews Church. The property is situated four kilometers from the beach, this stream side bungalow provides a relaxing break away.

You are twenty minutes from Akaroa which has a number of amenities. You are a short distance from a number of walks if you want to explore the Peninsular or simply relax and enjoy the native Kereru and Fantail that inhabit the surrounding trees.

For the children there is a stream at the back of the property which will keep them entertained for hours. The property is fenced although for those intent on escaping it is not fully secure.

The property is minutes from the beach and domain that contains tennis court, kids play ground, flying fox, basketball hoop and rope swing. The beach is safe for kids and there is a river at the southern end of the beach which is a perfect place to play and explore. Seals can often be seen playing around the rocks and Dolphins are often spotted in the bay.

The house has been renovated and has been tastefully decorated. This is an ideal destination for families and couples looking for a relaxing get away.

Very nice house, and lovely location. Very quiet. Be aware that there are no shops in Le Bons Bay - not a problem, just need to be organised! Akaroa is only 20 mins away, beautiful drive and lovely town. The zipline and cemetery nearby are well worth a visit. Amazing countryside around. Small point, but water pressure is low, and the water pump is a little noisy - suggest turn off at night. No problem doing this; just turn it on again in the morning. It was lovely to stay here as the property was as advertised – I cannot say the same for other Bookabach properties. Immediately after staying here, we stayed at a “Cottage” in Windwhistle (the Granary) that turned out to be 2 cottages conjoined by a paper-thin wall. Very noisy - neighbours clumping up and down creaky stairs next door, talking (you can hear everything), being woken up (at night and morning). Awful. This Le Bons Bay property is the opposite – very nice and no “surprises”. Excellent.

Secluded away from the hustle and bustle
A beautiful windy road with breathtaking views will take you to a secluded house away from the hustle and bustle of life. Nice fireplace with lots of wood stacked ready to go and extra heating is provided for cold winter days. The water pump was working overhours and struggled to fill the toilet due to blocked water filters, but owner was very good about it and communicated that they would look at it. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and can definitely recommend! Thanks for having us :)

Comfortable & welcoming bungalow in beautiful bay. Loved having the fire, some matches beside it would have been good. Would have helped to know the microwave is in the laundry, as we did not go in there until leaving. Fridge froze our vegies.

Lovely bach in peaceful surroundings
The house is cosy and inviting with a nice big garden. We enjoyed watching all the different birds through the windows. We love Le Bons (husband and I got married on the beach there 5 years ago) but it's a bit of a trek from Christchurch so it was wonderful to stay for the weekend and we would love to stay at this Bach again sometime.

Perfect holiday home and trip away
Super impressed by the gorgeous home in Le Bons Bay, for the price the house is very beautifully set up with everything you need - the fire place was the highlight for us!! It’s just a 25 min drive to Akaroa and close to many areas on the peninsula to explore, Le Bons Bay is a lovely beach area. Comfy beds, all self service and self cleaning etc which is expected at this low rate. And very important to us to bring our dog on holiday so this ticked all boxes. Thank you very much for the stay! Also, I had the best sleep I’ve had in a long time!

Property was well equipped with everything that anyone would need. Property matched the pics, the birdlife in the morning was music to our ears, was so good to get away from the city life of Christchurch to the peace and quiet of Streamside. Was close to Akaroa and Le Bons Bay beach. Wish we stayed longer.

What a lovely spot to be based at for a break, the hosts have certainly put a lot of thought into making it a lovely comfortable place to stay, but have still retained the bach feel, not to far a drive to the beach and domain which is a awesome spot to have a picnic and a great base for exploring other bays while taking in the awesome views of the Akaroa harbour, we would certainly stay here again.

Little bit of paradise
What a lovely spot to stay - plenty of room for our two couples to enjoy time away from the rat race. The bay itself is rather lovely and would be magic on a warm day (at least we didn't have rain). Added bonus of seeing some seals and dolphins! Given the weather wasn't very spring-like, it was lovely to have a fire to keep us warm as we played board games and chatted over beers and gins. Would thoroughly recommend this bach for a weekend getaway.

Peaceful location
My partner and I had a lovely stay here, the local beach is beautiful. It was nice to get away from the noise of the city and instead enjoy plenty of bird sounds. The house has plenty of heating and is very cosy.
