« They had severe weather the week before we arrived, and the shoreline access was closed off due to shore erosion. I was unaware of this when booking, but we dealt with it. We learned a lot about California Properties that are built on Sand Dunes, and how quickly the shoreline could erode. « My family and I had a great stay in Castroville over the holiday weekend. Castroville ended up being a good choice for us because we were able to get to Monterey easily, enjoy the activities around Moss Landing, and go fruit picking up in Watsonville. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a location that gives you access to a large part of the bay. »

« The location, neighborhood and proximity to beach was outstanding. However the cleanliness was not what I expected. Bathroom was not cleaned there were not bath towels in either of the downstairs bathrooms only hand towels. Kitchen glasses and silverware needed to be washed again before use. Also a couple of blankets had satins on them I find it very unfair that these rental properties have such high cleaning costs and then the place is not clean. For the cost they are charging I shouldn’t...

« We spent two nights here as a family while visiting the area in March of 2025. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, close to a grocery store and restaurants. Easy drive to Monterey or other nearby areas in the Salinas valley. Although the house itself is small (a “casita” after all) the 3 bedrooms are surprisingly large and even have closets (plus one has a half bath). The backyard is enchanting and relaxing. Grace is an excellent and thoughtful host and everything was in order when we arrived....

« We loved the house. The setup was perfect for our family and everything was very clean. The area was nice and quiet and the flowers and plants growing around the property were well cared for. My only complaint is that the master bathroom had a very strong cigarette smell and nothing seemed to mask the smell. »

« Apartment was modern, super clean, and quiet. Easy parking in lot nearby to building. Very well appointed, with everything you'd want for your stay: kitchen with cooking spices and coffee brewer with pods, nice bathroom, and living room with a comfy couch area and smart TV. Also, the wifi is solid. Be prepared for the walk up - it's only one floor up, however, the stairs are steep. Was not an issue for us, but may be if someone in your group has limited mobility. »
