'The "Pub" is an ex-servicemen's club, full of upbeat, salt-of-the-earth types the military typically recruits and always churns out; so you'll never lack for someone to talk to, or a friendly word or laugh. The current landlady had only taken over the day prior, so was not yet hooked up to provide breakfast, though she assured me that it will be available on my next visit. There will be one.'

'The hotel was in the ideal location for our purpose.It had its own car park which was convenient. The building looks good from the outside, unfortunately the rooms are out dated and ours was very hot. As it was on the ground floor we did not feel it safe to open the larger windows and the small window did not provide sufficient cooling. We had noisy neighbours both above and next door, this was unlucky and could happen in any hotel.'

'Photo in the Hotels.com emails is not this hotel! On arrival there were no tea making facilities in the room, but this was provided on request. The TV was unable to receive many channels, including BBC1 and BBC2. There was no shaver point.'

'Heel aardig hotel, bediening personeel is heel erg vriendelijk en de keuken is uit de kunst. Het hotel geeft een warme uitstraling . Wat er verder te zien is in de omgeving weten we niet omdat we er te kort voor aanwezig waren (1 nacht). De kamers zijn in orde en netjes. Iedereen is vriendelijk en behulpzaam ook de mensen uit de omgeving buiten het hotel. Kan niet beter.'

'we hebben drie nachten gelogeerd in Rising Sun Hotel. Prima hotel. Mooie gelegen in de heuvels van de Cotswolds. Vriendelijk personeel. Wij hadden een exclusieve kamer met hemelbed, en wel twee erkers met uitzicht over het dal. Een hotel met oud-Engelse uitstraling. Een aanrader! Voor een wandeling kun je direct achter het hotel de heuvels in, prachtig!!!'

'The Greenland's was a good hub for us. Good shower, well priced drinks, good pints of Guinness and Coors. Was some minor cosmetic damage to the wall of bedroom but would definitely recommend to stay here. Great Location, Great Showers, Great Staff and Great Pints.'

'Cheap and Cheerful, it was perfect for staying close(ish) to my destination to save me a stupidly early start on the sunday morning. The family who own the place were really friendly and being close to an authentic indian curry house (or 5) offered me a perfect evening before getting an early night.'

'Great stay especially as we had a dog with us. This place is extremely dog friendly and whilst clean the room was not too posh for us to worry about the dog being in the room. The food was excellent! Would highly recommend.'

'Pub was really nice - lively atmosphere good food/drink and the staff were fantastic. Excellent service, very friendly and helpful staff. Loved outdoor area as well very close to Stratford upon Avon. Our rooms were well appointed, had everthing we needed, although could have been a little cleaner, but this was very quickly resolved. Only issue was noise in our bedroom, as we were above the bar and noise from a busy main road.'

'Oldest pub in town, founded in 1368. It almost looks like the interior and comfort of the rooms has not changed since.... very small room, bed to short and very, very thin walls. Everything happening in either of the adjecent rooms could impossably be ignored. Breakfast only available after 8.00, which is annoying when on a business trip with early meetings. Staff was kind enough to give me a coffee in the morning, but this did not male up for a bad night sleep.'

'Verblijf van vier nachten hebben we er twee gehad met veel geluidsoverlast in het hotel zelf. Hebben niets het idee dat hier goed op gereageerd werd door personeel. ( idee is dat het Engelse waren) Bij vertrek werd ons niet gevraagd of we een aangenaam verblijf hadden gehad. Vonden we toch wat minder gastvrij. '

"Basic hotel maar alles wat je nodig hebt. Bedden zelf konden wel een keer een schoonmaak beurt gebruiken. Badkamer was wel netjes en schoon en er werd ook schoongemaakt. Dichtbij het centrum (loop afstand), je zit wel midden in het uitgaansgebied dus je hebt veel geluidsoverlast "

"the hotel itself is near the shopping, bars and restaurants but just enough to be entry on a side street so you can relax a little from the chaos, the only negatives i can think of is getting harassed for change everytime your outside hotel - and for 3 nights that meant almost each time i enter or leave hotel which they should really do something about, and the vegetarian options of room service should be improved a lot and should be all hours for the 5 star level of hotel"
