Extremely Disappointing Experience - Not Recommended
We arrived at Hotel Yelcho en la Patagonia at 8:20 pm after a long day, expecting a decent meal and reliable Wi-Fi based on their 3-star rating. During check-in, we were told the restaurant was fully booked and had no food left—not even bread or fruit. The receptionist was indifferent, leaving us with nothing to eat and suggesting a restaurant 30 minutes away, which was either closed or closing soon.
Our cabin, booked as a family room via Expedia, was far from the hotel and in poor condition—spiderwebs, dust, bugs, and even hairballs. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all, and we learned that it’s unreliable in the cabins due to a different provider, which was never mentioned before booking. I chose this hotel expecting to join two important online meetings, including a medical appointment, but was left without options. The so-called business centre was non-existent.
The cabin lacked basic safety, with an electric gas heater dangerously close to a power socket using an unsafe extension. No phone in the cabin, no access to the QR code due to no signal, and no soundproofing as claimed—we could hear frogs all night.
The only positive was Ignacia at the restaurant, who showed genuine kindness and brought us food despite everything. Sadly, her efforts couldn’t make up for the rest. Totally not worth the money. Avoid this place!
