Expensive but nice.
This tiny compact houseboat apt is very pleasant with lots of natural light. There is a small porch with 2 chairs and a side table overlooking the Nile. It is one small room (~12 x12)with a bed against one wall with a cubby corner closet behind it and a kitchen counter with sink, small fridge and microwave on the other, leaving a walking space of about 4 feet. The shower occupies the near end of room. Off the tiny entry hall is a small bathroom with toilet and sink.
The English speaking owner Marie, is readily available to answer questions through What’s App and she is very helpful-a god send where communication both verbally (difficult) and written (impossible) for non Arabic speaking guests is a challenge. The smiling resident housekeeper Karim (sp?) does not speak English but is also always eager to assist and calls Marie whenever necessary.
The location in Zamalek is good and one can walk to nearby restaurants or take a short Uber ride to others.
Our only complaint is the price which seems quite expensive given its tiny size. At half the price it would be a bargain. However we very much enjoyed our stay there and thank Marie and Karim for their gracious assistance.
