Situated in the idyllic village of Edzell, The Ramblers Rest, built in 1862 is the perfect bolt hole for couples, families and friends. It has recently been renovated to provide a bright, comfortable bespoke living space. The apartment is accessible via outdoor stairs via its own front door.
There are 2 bedrooms, one boasting a double bed and the other, two single beds. Relax in the spacious comfy living room, benefitting from free wifi internet and free view smart TV. There is also a small dining area within this space. The kitchen has full cooking facilities including a kettle, toaster, coffee machine and slow cooker with washing machine and outdoor/indoor clothes line for your convenience.
There is one bathroom with a shower/bath combo.
Edzell is a charming village with lots to see and do, and is well situated between Aberdeen and Dundee. The village was originally named Slateford and was renamed in 1818.
Enter the village under the ‘Dalhousie Arch’, erected in 1887 in memory of the 13th Earl of Dalhousie and his wife.
Edzell has a butchers, 2 local pubs/hotels and 2 cafe/bistros serving all day food, a post office, a Spar Convenience Store, garage, fish and chip shop and pharmacy. There are Chinese, Indian and pizza take aways in Brechin, 6 miles away, who also deliver.
The Ramblers Rest is situated across the road from one of the pubs/hotels and the 'Muir' which hosts a church, football pitch, dog walking area and play park. There are lots of other dog walking spots including the North Esk River which is less than a 5 minute walk away from the apartment. Here you can also walk across the 'Shakin’ Brig', a 100 year old suspension bridge. The village is also known for the Rocks of Solitude walk that is accessed through a blue door approx. a mile out of the village. Edzell is also a gateway to Glen Esk and Glen Lethnot which boast beautiful walks and scenery.
