Other things to note
Pets are welcomed at no additional cost! Feel free to bring your dogs along for the fun, but kindly limit it to 2 pets per booking. We do not allow pets on beds or any other furniture. Ensure their paws are clean before they enter the house and be considerate of our rugs. Please clean up after your pet, feel free to use our shovel near the front door to save everyone from stepping on landmines! You will be responsible for any damages caused by your pet at the cost of replacement or repair.
Firewood - We keep a massive amount of firewood on hand for burning in either of our two fireplaces in the cabin. Help yourself to as much as you'd like!
Winter Advisory- If you are planning on staying with us during the winter months we strongly recommend 4 wheel drive. There are plenty of times that 2 wheel drive and good tires would be fine, but please understand that you'd be taking a risk of getting stuck depending on road conditions. Our road and driveway is plowed through the winter - every 4" of accumulation. So as long as you have 4x4 you shouldn't have a problem. Also please note - we do not have anyone that can shovel the walks, porch, decks etc. The driveway will stay cleared - but unfortunately the shoveling is not something we can have done.
Garbage - The one downside to vacationing in God's Country is that we do not have any garbage removal service at our cabin. We require guests to pack out their garbage. We realize that this can be fairly inconvenient and for that we apologize. The cleaning service we use does not offer garbage removal, so we kindly ask that our guests remove their own garbage. Please do not leave it for the next guest to deal with. There is a solid waste transfer station (city dump) located just North of Grand Rapids at:
29959 E. Bass Lake Rd, Grand Rapids MN 55744. Open 8:30am-5:00pm MON - SAT.
If you plan on using the dump - you'll need to buy some dump coupons. These can be purchased at almost any gas station or grocery store in the county.
Help yourself to our paddle boards anytime you want! The boards are kept in the basement bedroom between guest stays to protect them from weathering. Please put them back when you are done using them. We also, have two adult life jackets for use in the laundry room.
No parties are allowed at our cabin. We don’t mind hosting larger gatherings but also, want to keep it family friendly. No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the cabin. We thank you in advance for your consideration and cooperation.
For our outdoor patio we have cushions and a umbrella that are stored in the left corner of our entry way. Please feel free to use them for your stay! We just ask that they be brought back indoors if there is rain and before you leave. Please be aware that if is a very breezy day the umbrella will likely take flight or break so, we ask that it be taken down or left inside on those days.
Safety considerations:
The railings on our deck are spaced out a little wider than we'd prefer for small children. Please keep this in mind when booking if you have little ones. We have an 18 month old and haven't had any issues, but it is something we want you to be aware of.
There are several tiered retaining walls going down to the lake approx 2-3' high. The retaining walls do not have any railings on them so please plan accordingly if you have children playing around them.
