'Wonderfull stay in a excellently converted former stable building behing the main house. Perfectly clean and cozy. Best for a solo traveler or couple used to a smaller room. Free parking in the courtyard and just a few minute walk to center of town. Owner was very friendly and offered travel tips.'

Breakfast, which you order the evening before, was absolutely delicious and Alison was a fantastic host. The building had a stunning front room for guests to use and was beautifully decorated throughout. Spacious, quiet, peaceful and welcoming. 'I stay for one night with my mother for a visit to Dumfries House. There was no record of our booking when we arrived but it wasn’t a problem and we were given a room in the annex. All was great although next time we would prefer to stay in the main hotel. We ate there on Saturday evening and the food was delious. The hotel recen changed hands and the new owners are renovating it to a high standard. We would definitely recommend this hotel.'
