'We had a great stay at Pongwe Bay Resort! As soon as we arrived we felt taken care of and comfortable. We got to Zanzibar quite late but when we arrived we were welcomed with cool hand towels, our luggage was carried to our room for us, and our bed had beautiful hibiscus flowers laid on it. It was the perfect relaxing getaway! Prices were really reasonable, AC in the room was strong, and they arranged airport transfers for us which was convenient. 'Loved the resort. We stayed in the Beach Junior Suite which was very close to the beach. The room is large and quite with a great bed and shower. The resorts grounds are well kept. The dining area is right on the water with fantastic views and accommodating staff. The food can be better, but that was our experience in all of Tanzania so can't fault this resort for it. '

'We stayed her for two nights. Beautiful authentic hotel, breakfast was good and had some different things than the usual breakfast buffets plus was a little different everyday. The biggest plus is the staff: very welcoming, friendly and helpful! The only thing that disappointed was the room: the room was ok, don't get me wrong, but it was inferior to the pictures of the one I booked online although it looked I was booking this room category, so the hotel only loses points there.'

'It is a colorful and safe place with smiling staff. The breakfast is generous. It is very nice that they have drinking water, also hot water and tea bags available throughout the day. AC works in the room, which is very helpful in the African heat. The only thing that Tanzanians cannot get right is plumbing. The shower in some rooms sprinkles water in all directions and leaks from the pipe junction. Otherwise, it is a good place to stay.'

'Wonderful staff that were helpful and accommodating in many ways. I needed to store my luggage for a few extra days and they graciously agreed and it was kept safe. No elevator, but the porters were so helpful during check-in/out that it wasn’t a problem. The breakfast area, pool and beach were beautiful and overall this was a very convenient location. Room was huge and clean with adjustable air conditioning. I would definitely recommend and stay there again! '
